Natural light, the direction of the pile, and the position of a rug, can all vastly change how an Oriental rug looks and feels in a room. If a rug is too large it can easily overwhelm a room; too small and you risk losing the design amidst too much floor space.
Persian and Oriental rugs can look very different under bright gallery and retail lighting – which is why we recommend trying a selection in situ before making the final decision.
We take all our carpets rugs and runners, free of charge and without obligation to your home to see exactly how they look in situ. Appointments are available 7 days a week, with evening and weekend appointments available to suit your schedule.
Measuring, Advice, and our Home Trial Service, is always free of charge (and we do the lifting!)
A Persian rug forms the locus of a room, and palette, pattern and form need to be taken into account. On hand to assist in choosing the rug that works best for your space, our interior consultants make the sourcing, selection and fitting of your Persian rug an easeful, illuminating journey
Whilst its easy to lose a rug amidst too much floor space, it’s also possible to overwhelm a room with too large a carpet or rug. As in all things, balance is key, and as we measure carpets every day, we suggest you sit back, relax, and let us handle the tape measure.
It’s worth noting that there’s no standard size for a handmade rug. Bearing this in mind we take the following measurements to find a perfect fit.
Our measuring service is complimentary, but if you feel you can measure the room at home, simply bring the above sizes with you when you visit us, or let us bring the rugs to you.
Whether you are redecorating, moving house, or perhaps due to an inheritance, you might find that you have a Persian rug that you no longer need.
