Persian Rugs in Homes

We love seeing Persian rugs in people’s homes (of course) and how they complement a variety of interior styles. Here are of some of our favourite creatives’ homes all complete with Persian rugs.

Painter David Hockney’s Notting Hill Flat. The Persian rug and plywood trees he made add touches of colour to the otherwise minimalist aesthetic.

Impressionist painter Claude Monet’s Home in Giverny, France. This was Monet’s studio and though the paintings are now reproductions – the originals are in the Musee Marmottan-Monet in Paris, all the furnishings are exactly as he left them.

Kelmscott Manor, Arts and Crafts designer William Morris’s Cotswold retreat who’s beauty and seclusion inspired many of his designs.

Sandycombe Lodge, landscape painter JMW Tuner’s home in Twickenhan which he designed and built in 1813 with the help of his friend, the renowned architect Sir John Soane.
